Errors In Translation Of Henan Tourism Texts Due To Cultural Default And Relevant Countermeasures

This thesis analyzes the typical Henan tourism translation texts from the perspective of functional equivalence. The thesis starts from introduction to the development of Henan tourism, follows up with discussion of the categories and characteristics of Henan tourism texts and explains the role of translator in the process of translation. Emphatically this thesis analyzes the cultural defaults of Henan tourism texts and possible translation errors-overtranslation, undertranslation and mistranslation. Under the guidance of functional equivalence, this thesis proposes the translating strategies of literal translation, transliteration plus explanation, adding, analogy, omitting, aiming at reducing the translation errors related to cultural default.
