The glossary research of Western Han Dynasty belongs altogether when the plane research, is the glossary dynastic history research. Through the use of modern linguistics, the glossary study theory, we describe Western Han Dynasty's glossary from the external factor and the internal factor aspect, mainly of new words, seeking to understand Western Han Dynasty's social characteristic, the glossary general picture and the change rule basically.The paper is divided into five chapters to explore the vocabulary of the Western Han Dynasty:Introduction, typical new words field reflecting social features of Western Han are studied, the research of the classification of the vocabulary of Western Han, two-syllable words are studied, multi-syllable words are studied.As a preface, the first chapter mainly introduces the background and the significance of topics, the topic research present situation and the topic research institute use fundamental research method. Studies the Western Han Dynasty Chinese glossary, we mainly rest on "The Great Chinese Dictionary" to establish the new words, the new meanings and related glossary corpus.In the basic guarantee for accuracy on the basis of corpus, we have different perspectives on the corpus of the classification and study, attempt to unfold the Western Han Dynasty Chinese variously the glossary general picture.The second chapter studies the Western Han Dynasty new words and expressions from the external factor. We displays typical new words field reflecting social features of Western Han from politics, the economy, the cultural three aspects, these symbolic new words and expressions have reflected Western Han Dynasty's social content from the different side. The third chapter mainly discussed Western Han Dynasty's glossary constitution, its glossary constitution including basic vocabulary and general glossary. Western Han Dynasty's basic vocabulary mainly includes the expression natural phenomenon some words, expression human organs' some words, the expression producer goods and subsistence means some words, the expression is called and refers to generation of relational some words, to express unit's some words, expression position time some words, the expression movement behavior and psychological change process some words, expression thing nature condition some words and so on. The general glossary has mainly studied Western Han Dynasty's external words, dialect words, Taoism language and so on. The fourth chapter has studied the two-syllable words from the pronunciation, semantics, and grammar.
