War, religion, machinery, technology, consumer culture, instituionalized violence and other factors that repeatedly appear in Vonnegut's works as well as his typical black humor, time travelling, parody, science fiction and other creative skills, even his own abstractionist illustrations drawn in the books can be linked as a whole, which is to say, the discourse system of Vonnegut's texts. How does this system turn into the overwhelming force and manipulative power hanging in the air above human nature? This kind of control is not only a destructive or devastating'violence', it also can be a distortion of constrction which is the'collage and schizophrenia'. Characters, plots and scattered elements always in a different cycle of works, forming a huge network structure. This thesis discusses the specific characterization of the network and how does the whole system generate effective among Vonnegut's works. On this basis, the thesis discusses the features of characters in Vonnegut's novels as a specific mental decline caused by the 'schizophrenic'state and how to face the dilemma of human existence and the nothingness of existence.The article also points out that Vonnegut's writing represents his ieads and spiritual content, through his examination we gain strength of reflection.More importantly, how he uses the text form of novel to produce the possibilities of'future forms'.Through close-reading Vonnegut's novel text, the paper studies how he reface, examine and be aware of history by using his novel form system while analyzng the 'schizophrenia'in the post-modern living space. On this basis, the paper tries to probe works of Vonnegut in the performance of human desire which caused by the collapse of reason and spirit, and points out the individual and macro elements of psychoanalysis included in Vonnegut's works. By using psychoanalytic theory, structralism, post-modernism and other theories in a wider perspective, this thesis bases on network of characters and construction of space in his novels, points out that the way the text structure means and forms. Besides, this paper penetrates deeply into Vonnegut's novel discourse practice, in order to point out how he resist nihility and beyond the life and death in the text throught the imaginative power, pursuing a certain possibility which correspond with reality. Thus and so, it reveals the unique and groundbreaking work done by Vonnegut.
