Taiyuan Area Of Rural Catholic Culture

This article is study on the current status of the dissemination of Catholicism in Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, and the integration and interaction between the religion and the local culture.This paper is divided into following five parts.The first part is introduction, which introduces the main research findings on Catholicism, a kind of foreign culture,by the Chineses cholars. This paper is trying to study on the localization progress of the Catholicism from the perspective of Comparative Literature category.The second part focuses on the history of the dissemination of Catholicism.Start from the early spread of Catholicism and the development progress in Shanxi Province, and followed with a brief introduction of the evolution and development of Catholicism in Taiyuan, including the distribution as well.Part III and Part IV are the key chapters of this paper. In the third part, author analyzes the state of the Catholicism's localization from the angle of external images.First of all,this chapter introduces the cultivation of the local Catholic clergy and the management practices on the local religious affairs by the Catholic clergy. Then this paper explains the changing on the architecture styles of Catholic churches.In Jinyuan District, there are three styles of the Catholic churches.They are Western-style church, residential-style church and the Chinese palace-style church. These three styles reflect the combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles, influenced by the Chinese architectural style to a certain extent.The fourth part is from the folklore and other cultural level, the analysis of the local Catholic religious life in China with local characteristics of the phenomenon. This phenomenon mainly in two aspects:first, Jinyuan District Catholic religious activities, and the integration of Chinese folk traditional folk form with Chinese characteristics,the Catholic religious activities. Secondly, Jinyuan District Catholic weddings and funerals and other social activities in the local folk in the inheritance.In addition, Jinyuan District Catholic in faith, there is also the phenomenon of multi-god worship, which is the Chinese people believe the utility is directly related.The fifth part is the paper's conclusion. This section first summarizes the background of the Catholic achieve localization, inevitability, and localization of content. After analysis of the Catholic Church can achieve localized reasons.Cultural influences are reciprocal,therefore, Jinyuan District Catholic culture of the local culture had an impact.
