Analysis Of The Xu Fu-guan On Wen Xin Diao Long Research

The research on "Wen Xin Diao Long" did by Taiwan and Hongkong scholars deserves special attention. Xu Fu-guan is one of the representatives. His"resurrection"angle and viewpoint towards the perception of "style" is so different from those of mainland scholars. He believes that the essence of"vigorous style"is"Qi"which is a new comprehension. In this paper, I take Xu Fu-guan's research on " vigorous style " and his opinion about "style" as a breakthrough point, then discover the unique value and special contribution of Xu Fu-guan's research by the comparison between his research and that of"Long"scholars from mainland china.The Full-text contains three parts. They are introduction, main tenet and conclusion.Introduction mainly introduces the character- Xu Fu-guan, the value of his research, the current comments on Xu Fu-guan's study of "Wen Xin Diao Long", the perspective and method of research adopted by this paper.The main tenet will illuminate Xu Fu-guan's"Long study"from two aspects respectively.The First part is about Xu Fu-guan's interpretation of"strength of character". This section discriminates the perception of"vigorous style"from the following three aspects in the first place. It analyzes that " vigorous style"can be seen as two images formalized by"Qi". It explains"vigorous style"from text interpretation and the evaluation to Xu Fu-guan's interpretation of"vigorous style"as well. Xu Fu-guan believes that"vigorous style"can be seen as"gentle"and"strength"functioned by"Qi"in works, which is the workers'vitality embodied in their works. Xu's new perspectives are especially embodied in this sentence. That is"the wind is shaped by expletive literal while the bone by virtual characters." The Second part is about Xu Fu-guan's analysis of "style". This section talks about three major issues: First, Xu Fu-guan"resurrects"the concept of style. In Xu's viewpoint, modern "style" has deviated from its right track. What he wants to do is to "resurrect" the style for what it is, which will be relevant to the following three issues. First, the style is a kind of artistic image literarily, which is different from the article classification. It compromises Genre, Main Theme and aspectuality. Second, style proceeds from affections and nature. It talks about that the style is the manifestation of affections and nature, the relationship between style and the author's talent, temperament, knowledge and habit. Third, it presents the evaluation to Xu Fu-guan's analysis of "style".Finally the conclusion points out the value and limitations to Xu Fu-guan's new interpretation on the"vigorous style " and "style".
