After Russo-Japanese War, Japan obtained the Lushun leased territory and the Southern Manchurian railroad (from Changchun to Dalian),which had been controlled by Russia. In order to strengthen the political and economic domination in northeast of China, Japan set up"the south manchuria railroad joint-stock company"in Dalian (abbreviate to the South Manchuria Railway Company). The privileges of the company in South Machuria included mining, railway, immigration, industry. The establishment of the Shiaowa Steel-Smelting Institute could be seen as an important evidence to prove Japanese ambition, that is to obtain the Northeast resources. In Anshan, Japan not only seized the rich mineral resource, but also enslaved and oppressed the Chinese labors, which brought them tremendous disasters. What the company had done evoked the Chinese labors to struggle bravely. This text is divided into five parts:The first part introduces the basic situation of the Shiaowa System Steel Institute. Before Liberation, Anshan Steel has experienced the process of Anshan Promotion Company, Anshan System Iron and Shiaowa Steel-Smelting Institute, which also is the process of Japanese expanding its colonize plunder. The second part focuses on the rule of the South Manchuria Railway Company to Chinese laborer's dominant policy. It includes labor recruitment policy and labor management. The third part analyze the workers living condition. By comparing the Chinese laborer's wages, living condition and housing condition to the Japanese workers, we can expose the Chinese labors'misery life. The fourth part discusses the Chinese labors'revolt struggle. We can conclude the characters of the Chinese labors from a study on sabotage, destruction of production, strikes, the struggle of "special workers" in the the Shiaowa Steel-Smelting Institute.
