The Comparison Between Structures Of "VR" And "V得/不R"

Grammarians agree generally that, bound Predicate-complement Structure"VR"(resultative construction and tendency construction)and potential Predicate-complement Structure"V得/不R"are inherently related, potential Predicate-complement Structure"V得/不R "comes from the extensions of the"VR".This paper first reviews the research achievements about"VR","V得/不R"and the comparisions between them. we try to discuss the comparisions between the stuctures of"VR"and"V得/不R"on the basis of previous research from the following aspects:Firstly,this paper respectively analyzes the situations about verb,adjective as the predicate,complement in the"VR"and"V得/不R"structures according to the measurement statistics about the verb,adjective and common verb-complement phrase which are collected by"Chinese verbs usage dictionary","Chinese adjectives usage dictionary","Chinese verb-results complement collocation dictionary"and explore the constraints about predicates and complements from syllabic,semantic,grammatical aspects.Secondly,By use of language iconicity principles,cognitive theory, seek the semantic differences that are mapped by the"VR"and"V得/不R"differences in the form.and compare the different constructional meanings of the"VR","V得/不R"and the different effects they've made to the predicate and complement by use of construction grammar theory.Finally,explore the internal conversion mechanism between"VR"and"V得/不R"on basis of discussing the limits of constructional components and the semantic differences of the structures.
