The Heritance Of Suzhou's Opera Costume Craft In The Past Century

This thesis aims to find a sustainable way for the protection, heritance, development and renovation of the craft of opera costume manufacturing in Suzhou, and tries to provide useful experience for the dynamic protection and progressive inheritance of other traditional handicrafts, by investigating into the century's history of Li Family which dedicated three generations to this craft, and analyzing the relationship between the changes of heritance vehicles (i.e., "person" or "group") and the continuation and development of costume manufacturing, and seeking the distinctive methods to passing on the craft so as to show the attention to the present and the awareness of the humanistic culture.
