| The Southern Song dynasty guan kiln, which plays a crucially important role during the development of Chinese ceramics due to its splendid royal identity since the day it was born, has always been focused on in the research history of the Chinese ceramics. Besides, the official kiln of the Southern Song Dynasty represents the extreme beauty of the celadon by the contracted and elegant styling as well the implicit and gentle glaze color. It is hard to exceed as yet because of its unique artistic style.This study provides a detailed and systematic introduction and review of the producing-porcelain of the Southern Song guan kiln by means of literature review, images compared with the real samples, and field work. The first chapter was the general overview of the whole thesis, which introduced that the producing-porcelain of the Southern Song dynasty guan kiln originally came from the Ru kiln, followed the trial firing of Dilingtou-Yuyao guan kilns, formed its unique producing-porcelain finally in the Xiuneisi guan kiln of Hangzhou. The comprehensive introduction of the producing-porcelain of the guan kiln of the Southern Song Dynasty can be found in the second chapter. The author also compared the similarities and differences of the Southern Song Dynasty official kiln and the Ru official kiln in terms of the features of the body and glaze, the shape of artifacts, the decoration techniques, the burning methods and so on. Furthermore, the patterns and the traits of the differences were analyzed as well the forming reasons of the producing-porcelain were discussed in this chapter. The third chapter described and interpreted the main factors which influenced the features of the producing-porcelain of the Southern Song Dynasty guan kiln and how the Zhanggongxiang kiln in the north China and the Longquan black body in the south China were affected by them.Overall, this study investigated the features and the development of the producing-porcelain of the Southern Song Dynasty guan kiln in light of its historical and cultural background. The author considered that the forming and the development of the producing-porcelain of the Southern Song Dynasty guan kiln was not only the result of the mingling of the producing-porcelain culture in the south and the north China, but also the intelligence gathering of two areas.
