Abstract:The writer of "Hong Lou Meng" predicts characters'destinies by using different ways. According to the study on characters'description in the novel, especially, the appearance description which including the physiognomy also predicts the characters'destinies. Although the physiognomy is not scientific prediction system, in time of "Hong Lou Meng", the physiognomy is very prevalent. It is possible for the writer to use the physiognomy to foretell the characters'fortunes. If the conclusion is right, there will be an important supplement for the prediction system of this novel.
