On Mu Mutian Poetry--In The Perspective Of Symbolism

Mu Mutian is not only a famous scholar and translator of the modern China, but more important is that Mu Mutian is one of the most important poet in the modern Chinese poetry history. Mu Mutian's poetry and his theory of poetry is one important heritage in the development of the modern Chinese poetry history, it is valuable to summarize the disciplines of the modern Chinese poetry.This thesis researched from the background of the times Mu Mutian became a new poet in 1920s and the analyzed the dissemination of symbolism in China at that times and the position of Mu Mutian in the dissemination of symbolism. After that, this thesis analyzed the most important of Mu Mutian's works focusing on the theory of symbolism poetry-< On poetry, a letter to Mo ruo> and pointed out that the thoughts of Pure poet in this letter was aimed to establishing the disciplines of modern poet writing and creating one kind of theory of symbolism poetry in China to correct the anomie of Chinese modern poet writing. In the last part, this thesis analyzed the famous poetry anthology of Mu Mutian' symbolism poet < travel heart>, pointed out the poet and his theory of poet is very important in the history of Chinese modern poet history.
