Wutai County belongs to the Xinzhou Region in the Northeast of Shanxi province. Wutai Dialect is part of Wutai area. Although nowadays Jin Dialect has been getting attention and is studied by many scholars, Wutai Dialect is short of research. There are only a few papers about Wutai Dialect. This thesis is on the basis of papers about the noun overlap of Wutai Dialect from Sun Xiaohua, Zhang Xiuqin and so on. I also consulted achievements of sixty years. This thesis studies the overlap of my mother tongue, Wutai Dialect. The thesis used practice survey and references. It contains six parts. The Preface presents studies on overlap of Chinese Language, Wutai County's Geography and the content, method of my thesis. The following chapters describe Wutai Dialect's overlap of noun, verb, adjective, adverb, quantifier and onomatopoeia. The chapter describes the structure, semantic features and grammatical function of overlap. In Wutai Dialect, overlap is used in noun, verb, adjective, adverb, quantifier and onomatopoeia. With the same as Putonghua, overlap of verb and adjective has a large proportion. So I put the overlap of adverb, quantifier and onomatopoeia in one chapter. Overlap is usually used with "er". In Chinese language, "er" means "small". When used together with overlap, it can strengthen the mean of "small" and increase the commendatory sense. In the conclusion, the thesis summarizes two characteristics of Wutai Dialect's overlap, and some questions.I hope it can be helpful to the research of Wutai Dialect and Jin Dialect.
