Constructing Of College Students' Network Alienation Scale And The Relationship Between Network Alienation And Self-Esteem

This study through the literature review method, in-depth interview method,scale survey method, investigating 1400 college students in Chongqing,constructing the "College Students network alienation scale" with a preparation of high reliability and validity , then, we have studied the relationship between the alienation and self-esteem of college students.1. College Students network alienation scale has good reliability and validity, using factor analysis approach, we found that it has four dimensions,:a sense of no purpose, an sense of unfamiliar,a sense of worthlessness, and a sense of being controlled.2. The overall situation of network alienation of College Students in Chongqing.The total average score of alienation is 3.65,with a medium level of standard; and the average size of each dimension were as follows:a sense of worthlessness (4.25)> a sense of no purpose (3.71)> an sense of unfamiliar (3.48)> a sense of being controlled (2.90)3. The network alienation and its dimensions in the study of gender differences of College Students in Chongqing. Male and female colleges students have a significant difference on a sense of worthlessness and a sense of being controlled, while no significant difference on other dimensions.4. The network alienation and its dimensions in the study of grade differences of College Students in Chongqing. There was a significant difference in all the differences dimensions except a sense of unfamiliar. In order to know the development of the sense of alienation between grades,we drawed the curve and found that the network sophomore year of were significantly higher than the other three grades on alienation and its three dimensions (except a sense of being controlled)5. The network alienation and its dimensions in the study of ground differences of College Students in Chongqing.The rural biogenic students was significantly higher than the towns and county seats on the network alienation and it's two dimensions:a sense of an unfamiliar and a sense of worthlessness.6. The network alienation and its dimensions in the study of majors' differences of College Students in Chongqing. Natural sciences students were significantly higher than the humanities classes and other classes of students on the a sense of unfamiliar.7. There was a significant negative correlation between self-esteem and network alienation (both the total score and it's four dimensions),and both the total score of network alienation and it's dimensions can be predicted significantly by self-esteem.
