The Study On Epitaph-Disyllabic Adjectives In Wei Jin & Nan Bei Dynasties

Wei Jin & Nan Bei Dynastyies belong to mediaeval times of Chinese language history, in which language have being occured. In this period, Chinese character, vocabulary, phonology and grammar etc. were in change. Vocabulary is the most sensitive part in Chinese language; It also changed the fastest. Epitaph included rich plenty of Disyllabic adjectives.They have distinct characteristics, and reflect the basic usage of disyllabic adjectives face.This thesis is the study on phase of Chinese vocabulary history. The purpose is to do a basic job for disyllabic adjectives in mediaeval epitaph, including description anlysis and basic research work. And it means great value to the whole history of Chinese Vocabulary. The thesis is divided into three chapters. Chapter I is "preface", which introduce the foundation, material,and current research situation of the study. We have made a determined "four criteria" of disyllabic adjectives. This part also have probed the origin and development of Epitaph, described its shape,formand the value of language study in depth. And we have discussed the disyllabic adjectives determinate criterion in detail, preparing for the coming next exposetion. In chapter II "structure analysis",we have described the classifing structure of selected disyllabic adjectives. Firstly,we classified words into continuous words and compound words in accordance with the structure of disyllabic adjectives; Then, on the basis of semanteme stuctrural pattern,we divided into several categories. Each of the words forms are combined with illustrating examples.Chapter III, " Wei Jin & Nan Bei Dynastyies epitaph-polysyllabic adjectives's semantic study" is the most important and difficult section. It concretely classified as "semantic composetion,concept meaning and color meaning, the application of the objects, meaning color, acceptation polymerization " research areas. The research method is not only following the traditional line of thought, but also contain innovation. Some means in "application object classification" and "polymerization with morpheme words" research are very innovative and practical.Finally, the conclusion of the thesis summarized the main features of epitaph-disyllabic adjectives in Wei Jin & Nan Bei Dynasties, illustrated the value and shortcomings existing in this thesis.
