Bertrand Russell, as a famous British philosopher, mathematician, logician, essayist and social activist in 20th century. In the famous book "marriage and morals", Russell put forward series of new ideas include anti-Christian marriage. As a pioneer of the times, he support for feminism, marriage freedom and so on. The thesis is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter, Russell described the great changes of marriage, family, sexual morality and other aspects from the Christian era to modern industrial society. In Russell's view, the negative impact of Christianity had poisoned people's ideas of modern civilization. Holy marriage and not divorce thought were wrong. He also criticized that Love cannot be a motives of marriage and retorted the ideas that sexual morality is considered obscene. Russell supported marriage must be based on love, and everyone should have the right to pursue happiness. Children should be treated seriously in the matter of divorce. His book "Marriage and morality" analyze love, marriage, happiness and the relationship among them. He proposed what is marriage and the condition of marital happiness, love is the motive of marriage, divorce is in feasibility but difficulty in families having children. Inspired by the avant-garde idea of freedom, Russell advocated sexual liberation and sexual freedom, and legitimized the extramarital affairs and other phenomena.In the second chapter, Russell's marriage life was guided by his marriage ideas. Four marriages and numerous extramarital affairs make a century-years Russell's life more romantic and colorful. Of course, his behavior and thinking have also brought unexpected opposition and resistance. The disgruntled friends and relatives, the vicious attack of public opinion have certain influence on Russell's lives, but this has not diminished Russell's passion for life.At last, from viewpoint in modern times, the marriage ideas of Russell's had an eye of great-looking. His sexual freedom, marriage revolution, and the advocate of trial marriages and eugenics have been greatly popular and universal in modern society. Meanwhile, Russell's thinking is limited by his age and class restriction. Bourgeon Aristocratic ideology, individualism, and social changes have great impact to Russell's life. On the basis of bourgeon and nobility, Russell also has his unavoidable limitations. In a socialistic society, his ideas not only provide great inspiration for youths'love and marriage, but also guide our values of love and marriage in a rational way.
