Happy teaching and learning refers to a teaching method by which both the teacher and the student have a pleasant experience in class and benefit a lot physically as well as mentally. It aims at cultivating all-round talented people with their own personalities. Throughout the whole process, interest, success, creativity, understanding and trust are highly emphasized. Looking back on the past, we can see that happy teaching and learning has developed gradually, and a great many famous educationists have studied on it. From the development trend, the reformation and experiment on happy teaching and learning is stepping towards maturity, as it becomes more scientific and its theoretical research is deepened gradually.This research has concluded and analyzed the main problems which appear in the present oral class for English majors, put forward the strategy on applying happy teaching and learning to oral class for English majors, at the same time, point out that we have to be alert and free ourselves from the mistaken ideas on happy teaching and learning.The research includes five parts:Part one:Introduction. The author expatiated how the problem was raised, the purpose, plan, methods, and significances of research. After the sorting out of literature, the deficiency of the theoretical research has been advanced.Part two:The theoretical analysis on happy teaching and learning for English majors. "Oral English" and "happy teaching and learning for English majors" have been defined. And the differences between oral English and written English as well as the factors hindering the improvement of oral English have been analyzed by the author. Finally, the author analyzed the theoretical principles of this research in detail.Part three:The status in quo of happy teaching and learning in oral class for English majors. The author had chosen 2 colleges as the object of study, and did a survey on the status in quo of happy teaching and learning in oral class for English majors. Based on the survey, the problem has been raised and reasons have been found.Part four:The basic strategies and implement of happy teaching and learning in oral English class for English major. The author puts forward several strategies of happy teaching and learning in oral English class for English major, and chooses a case of her own to analyze in detail.Part five:Freeing ourselves from mistaken ideas on happy teaching and learning in oral English class for English major. In order to apply happy teaching and learning successfully, we have free ourselves from four mistaken ideas on happy teaching and learning in oral English class for English major. Firstly, happy teaching and learning means no hard work. Secondly, happy teaching and learning will influence us to give up the pursuit of knowledge but happiness. Thirdly, in order to apply happy teaching and learning, we only need to reform the teaching method. Forth, only happy learning is focused in happy teaching and learning.
