The Research On The Contrast About The Ethnic Groups' Historical Data In Shihchi And Han History

The thesis gains the conclusions below from the historical data which was coincided both in Shihchi and Han History, that is, on the whole, most of the ethnic groups' data in Han History are quoted from Shihchi, in which Ban Gu had supplemented some materials as well as corrected corruptions. Besides, Ban had made some chapters rearranged. In details, there are so many modifications that it is not very hard for the readers to find out a lot of differences in both style of writing and events recording if they comparing the both carefully. Ban Gu modified Shihchi in order to show the readers his thought and purpose for writing. On addition, he made adding, complementary, deleting and subtraction aimed to make up a deficiency and correct the mistakes, at the meanwhile, it aimed to gave an expression on the amending as well as consummation by rearranging the table of contents. Only can we make a better contrast and find out the differences in the way of modifying the minor details and subliming words with deep meaning when further estimating Ban's mind. Therefore, the paper pays much attention on the details that on the analysis for modified place, from which altered and amended by Ban, we will see that Sima Qian's thoughts on ethic groups is very plain and nature, while Ban Gu's minds are Strictly orthodox.
