The Study On Chinese Flower-and-bird Painting Of Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest

In recent decades, a new genre of Chinese flower-and-bird painting comes into being with its distinguished local features on the theme of Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest.Tropical rain forest theme flower-and-bird painting originated at the late 1970s, Wang Jinyuan and many other artists went to draw from nature in Xishuangbanna, and then brought forth their flower-and-bird works. Large number of tropical rainforest theme works booming, shows the dedication of art workers in new era. But, theorists pay little concern about the subject in recent decades, and as a result there is lack of case studies. Because of this reason, this study has its original reaserch value.By visiting to ethnic minority villages in Xishuangbanna, investigating the Tea-horse Road and looking up documentary in local libraries, this study confirmes that thres is no Chinese flower-and bird painting in Xishuangbanna in its history. By interviewing with local artists and collecting relevant works on the theme, the study has gathered sufficient materials to support this research.This study is divided into three chapters:The first chapter explains the origins and significance of the study, the current status of research, the thinkings and methods of the study.The second chapter, based on research and literature, studies the germination and development of the painting on this theme since 1970s, including its artist ratios.By means of literature study, image analysis, comparative study, the third chapter analyzes the features of composition, color characteristics and technique of representative tropical rainforest theme works features the works for the study finds that Yunnan painter, Wang Jinyuan, with his creative efforts and achievements up to 30 years on the theme, and then a large number of artists engaged in the same subject, had gained their respective approval and fame. Therefore, a new art genre, the Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest Flower-and-bire Painting, came into being.Therefore, I hope this research could lead to more attention to the flower-and-bird painting on the subject of tropical rainforest, and hope art scholars and theorists would give a conclusion to such a painting genre.
