Research On Historical And Novel Narrative Over Jin Shu Compiled In Tang Dynasty

Aggregating almost 18 historical records of the Jin Dynasty, Jin Shu compiled in the Tang Dynasty (short as Jin Shu herein after) is so plenty of historical materials that impresses people with a magnificent view today. Yet since it was born, it has been suffering enough from different criticism just because of the so-called impurity of the historical phraseology resulted from abundant novel element in the historical narrative. From the narrative angle, the essay tries to describe a unique narrative look of the book on the basis of the comparison research between the book and the novel Sou Shen Ji and Shi Shuo Xin Yu from which Jin Shu had adopted the principle novel materials, in addition, in the macroscopic historic view, the essay puts Jin Shu into a dynamic process of both the historiography and the fiction development before the Tang dynasty, so that to review the source of its narrative particularity and its significance in the fiction history.The essay includes an introduction, a main body and an epilogue.In the preface part, the writing background, the main narrative characteristic, the research situation over the book back from the past, also the deficiency and layers having not been referred into in today's research are introduced. On this basis, the author here states the significance of choosing this theme and the study direction of the essay.The main body is divided into four chapters:Chapter 1:Jin Shu and the historical narrative. First, using Shi Tong written by Liu zhiji as a blueprint, this chapter defines the general historic narrative character from three respects which are content, style and attitude. Then, in accordance with the rational layer for the book's novel adopting in historiography, it explores the book's attitude to the orthodox historic narrative by analyzing the filtering standard and also the specific handling ways like cropping, revising, gathering and editing etc. to the novel materials.Chapter 2:Jin Shu and the novel narrative.
