| In Shanghai dialect, there is a category of the complement that they don't express specific meaning, and"Tuo[t???]"is the most special of them. Many scholars have noticed the specificity of"Tuo", and have achieved some results on study of"Tuo", this is the basis of our research. This paper focuses on the structure of"V-Tuo", makes a thorough analysis separately from the interior and exterior angle. The paper is divided into six chapters, and the main ideas of each chapter are as follows.Chapter one is the preface of the paper. It contains the overview of the geographic location and dialects of Shanghai. Descripts the purpose and significance of our paper. And, we conclude a comprehensive analyze which abstracts from some linguists and their works.Chapter two and three is the overall study of the structure. Since the function and significance of the syntax of"Tuo"is not exactly the same, we divide"Tuo"into"Tuo1"and"Tuo2", and call the structure as"V-Tuo1"and"V-Tuo2". Chapter two is the research of"V-Tuo1". We study on the range and semantic types of verb V, and carry out a more detailed semantic description of"Tuo1".Chapter three is the research of"V-Tuo2". We also study on the range and semantic types of V, and carry out a more detailed semantic description of"Tuo2". And then discussed the nature of"Tuo2": We think that"Tuo2"is between the results complement and aspect marker, so we call"Tuo2"semi-aspect marker.Chapter four, on the basis of Grammaticalization Theory, demonstrates the grammaticalization process of"Tuo". And reveals the main and important motives of its grammaticalization. And we try to analyze the limited motivations of"Tuo"from the cognitive angle.Chapter five is the research of three related structures:"V Tuo Yi","VV Tuo"and"V Sha Tuo".Chapter six is the conclusion. We summarize our viewpoint and explain the value, innovation of the thesis. We hope our research could do some good for the Chinese studies and also for the Shanghai dialect research.
