The Study Of Time Adverbs In Modern Chinese

The time adverb is a very important subcategory in modern Chinese language. From the perspective of micro and macro aspects, the present paper studies time adverbs of modern Chinese language using three dimensional theories.Firstly, the general situation of the previous researches concerning time adverbs is overviewed. The present paper also analyzes the disadvantages of the previous researches, and illustrates the importance of the present study.Secondly, the scope of time adverb in modern Chinese language is defined in the present paper, and then from the perspective of macro aspect, the present paper reclassified the object of the study.Thirdly, from the micro perspective, the present paper discusses the functions of time adverbs in semantic, grammatical, and pragmatic aspects, and mainly analyzes the issues of time adverbs such as the function of syntax , the way of overlapping, and the differences between the original form and overlapping form, the order of adverbial, and the category of restricted type of semantic and so on.Finally, the disadvantages of the present paper are summarized, and the orientation of the future research is pointed out.
