In the Chinese contemporary literary circles, Liu Zhenyun undoubtedly is a noticeable writer. He cuts into"the history"by the unique folk angle of view, and then writes the"the hometown". Liu Zhenyun's "Hometown Series" can be described as"special case", for its text form is so diverse. There fore, the focus of this paper is to dig the intrinsic sporitual direction after specifically reading from the angle of"hometown". The first chapter mainly discusses the"existence"of the"hometown"in liu's texts, including the"existence"of realistic hometown and spiritual hometown. The second chapter mainly explains the meaning of the existence of hometown according to the"history"in liu's writings. The third chapter attempts to analyse the spiritual road on liu's seeking for"hometown"by the two models of"left"and"return". As far as liu concerned,"hometown"is still not the soul's last habitat. What he leaves people in the depairing attachment and painful contemplation.
