Research Of Subjective Happiness Of Retired Veterans And The Influence Factor

It is an inevitable aged tendency of world's population. China has become an aged national in 2001, and the populations will over 200 million, accounting for about 14% of the total population. How to keep the psychological and physical health of older persons is the crucial factor to ensure the quality of life of older people, health and longevity. Subjective happiness is a main indicator to judge life quality and psychological of the elderly. Therefore, research about subjective happiness of the elderly is a very important issue of the psychological at present. As a special public, the psychological characteristics of retired veterans exists an obvious"five character"and their physical condition is a period of"double high". Many psychologists have presented a lot of researches about mental health research in the past ten years. However, the systemic research about subjective happiness of the army retired is not considered deeply, and continuous track is not reported. In this study, social support, self-esteem, life events, personality, inventory of subjective happiness, physical health and general inventory were used to measure the subjective happiness of army retired soldiery. There are three times of questionnaire and interview once every three months. Some correlation analysis between subjective happiness and these factors were performed and comparison analysis at different level was also used. Some scientific and practical base about mentality health education would be provided by this research.The main conclusions are as follows:The subjective happiness of retired veterans is in a high level overall. There are in obvious difference statistically in age and family atmospheric.Retired veterans have a higher social support. There are a significant positive correlation between social support and subjective happiness. The social support comes from others support, such as service stations for senior retired armymen.Senior retired armymen has a higher self-esteem, and the self-esteem is positive correlate with subjective happiness. The higher self-esteem level of these senior retired armymen has, the higher subjective happiness will achieve.The main life upset is from family problem for the senior retired armymen. There are a negative correlation between life upset and subjective happiness.There are three different personality types for senior retired armymen. There are an obvious correlation between subjective happiness and the internal and external personality. The neuroticism and sprit is not correlation with subjective happiness. The subjective happiness from intermediate senior retired armymen is higher than those from internal and external personality and lower than those from low neuroticism and high nervous personality by a deeply analysis.There are not a significant statistical correlation between physical health and subjective happiness of the senior retired armymen.The subjective happiness of subjective happiness of the senior retired armymen changes with life events, self-esteem, social support and physical health. There are not a significant difference when comparing subjective happiness and personality type, which indicating that the personality of senior retired armymen is stable.
