The Research Between The Language Defamiliarization And The JingLing School's Poetic Style

The School of JingLing literature emerged in WanLi period of late Ming Dynasty was famous for the poetic style of its own with the unique symbol of seclusion and aloofness from the literary world. But, departing from the classics, JingLing School was severely criticized by the traditional literati then and was kept silent and ignored for long time in the Qing dynasty. With the development of modern theory of literature and art, especially the theory of Comparative literature in the scope of globalization, the research of JingLing School literature gains more and more attention than any time, and the defamiliarization theory of Russia formalism could be a good entry point of a new exploration.The thesis begins with the defamiliarization theory about the ontology of literature, and then, applying both a paralleled comparative study and an explicative study, systematically analyzes the JingLing School within the theoretical frame of defamiliarization, in the hope of discovering the similar characteristics of JingLing School's poetic style and defamiliarization movement coined in 1917 by Viktor Shklovsky.Firstly, by combing, comparing and analyzing the theoretic concept of Russian defamiliarization and poetic proposal of JingLing School, the author proves that both trends share the same literary philosophy and, persisting in pursuing the ontology of literature its proper, hold a detached attitude to the reality which is traditionally considered as the source of literature. Secondly, by means of distinguishing the features of defamiliarization in language and poetic rhythm displayed in the poems of JingLing School, the author demonstrates the importance of the elaborate symbolic image of outlandishness and detachments employed in JinLing literary creation. Thirdly, through further discussion of the theory of defamiliarization and poetic proposal of JingLing School, the author illustrated the different understanding of the ontology of literature and criterion of poetic aesthetics, pointing out that the theory of defamiliarization hunts for the form of the abnormal and unrealistic in the part of aesthetic criterion, while the JingLing School lays emphasis on the expression of"True feelings"and nonverbal inner spirit from the subjective aesthetic contemplation.In a word, the comparative study of the theory of defamiliarization and poetic proposal of JingLing School not only enriches the connotation of the world literariness, but also gives us a new dimension of viewing the JingLing School poetic proposal which can help us better understand the aesthetic contemplation of JingLing School literature and excavate the value of the Chinese-style aesthetic criterion.
