The present thesis discusses journal translation problem existing in current Mongolian newspaper. In this thesis, the author tries to analyze some phonetic errors in translating foreign person names into Mongolian ones, some other errors in translating words and sentences from Chinese into Mongolian, and some wrong usage of noun terms, taking the seven Party papers as the research materials such as Inner Mongolia Daily, Xilingaole Daily, Ordos Daily, Hulunber Daily, Chaidamu Daily, Tongliao Daily, Chifeng Daily, those were published in December, 2007 and January, 2008. Through the analysis of translation error and wrong usage, he puts forwards some suggestion of correct translation methods. In Mongolian newspaper, the most parts of the contents are translated from other journal reports, and the sources of the translated parts are not only from Chinese journal reports but also from some foreign journal reports. Therefore, the translators as Mongolian journalists have much pressure at their translation work and their job is more demanding than others. At present, there are many problems existing in phonetic translation of foreign person names into Mongolian ones and in translation of some words and sentences into Mongolian. In addition, these problems have great impact on the quality and Mongolian autographic standardization of Mongolian newspapers. Thus, the present study on the translation problem in is helpful to the translators as Mongolian journalists.This article consists of five chapters including introduction, the first chapter, the second chapter, the third chapter and conclusion.The introduction part will introduce the research object, literature review of present research, research purpose, research methods, and historical review of previous studies. The first chapter is the introduction of a general understanding of journal translation. In the second chapter, the author analyses typical examples of the phonetic errors in translating foreign person names into Mongolian ones, which are found from seven Party newspapers, and gives some suggestion of correct phonetic translation and puts forwards some noticeable points in translating foreign person names into Mongolian. The third chapter digs into analyzing some problems existing in the usage of proper noun terms and the translation of words and sentences in Mongolian newspaper and tries to find out some suggestible usage and translation. In the conclusion part, the author brings out the causes of the existing problems and gives some suggestion of how to resolve these problems.
