Based on the former researches and a large scale of oral language data base, we describe and analyze the usage, meaning and function of mood particle'A'compressively, try to make this dissertation a well described as well as fully explained one. Usage of'A', this dissertation refer to the syntactic distribution to describe the specific usage of the mood particle'A'in Mandarin Chinese detailedly and systematically, there are two different kinds of'A'in Mandarin Chinese, one is a filler while the other is a mood particle. That can not be confused in the study. mood particle'A'appears in the middle or at the end of a sentence, it can be used with other words as well as used alone.'A'which in the middle of a sentence stick to one syntactic constituent. Those which at the end of a sentence stick to the whole sentence, but it is not the sufficient condition for a sentence category, nor the necessary condition. When two or more'A'stick to identical or closely similar grammatical structures, we call that as the construe usage of'A'. In addition,'A'which use alone is mood particle but not interjection.II. the function of'A', according to the analysis of syntactic distribution of'A', this dissertation conclude two core pragmatic function: interaction and enumeration.
