The Study On Charity Of Jiujiang Area During The Late Qing Dynasty To The Republican Of China

The charity is an important force that maintaining social stability, relief of disadvantaged groups, especially in the social unrest or transitional period. It is particularly prominent role of aid.During the late Qing dynasty to the republican of China, Jiujiang's charity attracted attention because of its important geographic location, economic and cultural and historical reasons. The social transition gave Jiujiang's charities a necessary condition to modernization development. The arrival of western charity ideology accelerated Jiujiang's charity cause from tradition to modern evolution. Mixing the east and west culture, Jiujiang reconstructed the new charities with local characteristics. The charities cause complete or not were the Comprehensive reflection of the social, political, economic, cultural and other barometer of development. The late Qing dynasty to the republican of China, the development of charities in Jiujiang showed the social relations among political, economic and cultural development and state, gentry, public in the process of transformation.On the basis of grasp of academic trend amd a lot of materials, this article tries to discuss charities of Jiujiang area during the late Qing dynasty to the republic of China. This paper divides into three parts.The first part, the first chapter, mainly inspects the decline of traditional charities in Jiujiang in the late Qing Dynasty. Based on traditional charity organization and activities of the decline, then discusses the sources of funds and finally briefly analyzes its causes. Through the development of church in Jiujiang, the second part of this chapter discusses the charities of the church after opening port in Jiujiang, and the influence to society.The second part, namely the second chapter, inspect the church in Jiujiang's charity public utility conditions, the types, the characteristics and its affects to the society after Jiujiang opening the port, thus discuss the modernization questions of the Jiujiang charity public utility works.The third part, namely the third chapter, with emphasis discusses the development of the new chariy public utility work in Jiujiang in the earlier period of the Republic of China, analyzes the starting of Jiujiang's new charity public welfare organization and the basic characteristics, thus elaborats the formation and social affects of modern times charity public utility work in JiujiangFinally, namely the conclusion, basing on the analysis of the process of the charities'development in Jiujiang in the late Qing Dynasty to Minguo period , and further discusses the relations among the state, regional society and people in the modern process of social transformation.
