The significance that questioned closely by Kundera was the existence of human beings,which is not only rooted in the earth but also deeply grown in Kundera's interior world.That makes all the exploration and discussion concluded to this proposition in the end。This thesis will be separated into four chapters to analysis and explain the deep meaning of "existence" from a different angle,by using an special concept—"Idyllic" in Kundera's novel text.And this paper will also discuss the conception and significance of "Idyllic" by text closing reading of two important figures in Kudera's novels to further discuss the function and meaning of Kundera's important theme to the development of the novel world.Chapter one will dissertate the general research development on Kundera's works by critical since his first novel,which aims to analysis and summarize the important themes and influence of his works.Hopefully,this dissertation can outline the truth of an influential writer in modern world.。 Chapter two first confirms the definition and connotation of"Idyllic" as a word and then states the important meaning of this concept in Kundera's novels by describing specific scenes.This chapter also digs into the "existence" behind the works and its aesthetic meaning to Kundera's novels。Chapter three analyzes the female figures in Kundera's works,which are symbolized by Rose in〈The Joke〉and Agnes in〈Immortality〉.Rose will be the important figure to start the theme of "Idyllic",and Agnes deepened the meaning of "Idyllic",thereby,makes this paper does a thorough exploration on the development and evolvement of this theme.The function of this chapter lies on helping the reader to understand the development and complicated thought of Kundera's during his writing creation stages.。Chapter four talks about the reason why Kundera preferred woman to clarify the existence way of "Idyllic" and discusses the theme of "Idyllic" in the topic of "existence" as well as the position and meaning of "Idyllic" is in the novel world now.
