In the late Ming Dynasty, under the influence of Yangming's School and Taizhou School after it, some trends of thoughts emerged in the ideological field, which did not go with orthodox feudal ideas. The most prominent one was the not-real-Confucius and not-real-Buddhism "Mad Chan", which appeared after Wanli era. Li Zhi was one of the few representatives who raised and supported this idea. He publicly held the banner of Buddhism, employed Buddhist ideas and language to harshly criticize pseudo-Daoxue. During this process, he absorbed the advantages of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. In particular, his acceptance and absorption of Buddhist ideas in the trends of the fusion of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in the late Ming Dynasty was unique and conspicuous. This paper attempts to illustrate briefly the internal and external conditions, its theme, characteristics, historical status and value in the modern society of Li Zhi's Buddhist idea and thus draw a few appropriate conclusions.
