On The Season Narrative Of A Dream Of Red Mansions

Narratology in the West does not pay particular attention to the relationship of works, authors and social or historical environment, instead to the text of works.This theory was introduced into China in the 1980's,which is in line with the increasingly popular voice of "text regression", and afterwards, the research of narration of A Dream of Red Mansions rose. Though the mature narration theory is beneficial to the critics and research of the Chinese classical novels, it is not complete or perfect enough to explain A Dream of Red Mansions which is full of Chinese traditional cultures. Plenty of scholars have realized this and are searching for new ways. Based on the pectination and research of the text of A Dream of Red Mansions, it has been found that the novel is written according to the four seasons : spring, summer, autumn, winter. This text draws lessons from the theory of interaction between heaven and man in traditional Chinese philosopher and based on the scenery of the four seasons or the four seasons'imaginable structure of A Dream of Red Mansions which were discussed by senior scholars,then advance the core concept--- season narrative. Season narrative is a narration way in which the novel is narrated on the basis of the change of four seasons and the circulation of life experience. The text is mainly divided into five parts, and is narrated about focusing on time, the cycle loop and the compound function of season narrative, in order to give a new explanation to the distinctive pattern and wisdom of the narration in A Dream of Red Mansions.The first part is seasons' exchang in growth ring, in which briefly introduces Jia Baoyu descend to the world and suffer a lot ,and describing its relationship with season change according to a table.The second part is focusing on time of the season narrative. It brings in time-focusing , the theory of narration consistency and intensity, and combines the ninteen-year life experience of Jia Baoyu as well. Above all, it discusses the time of static and dynamic state--- the rule of dynamic behavior when the time focuses on static state.The third part is four cycle loop of season narrative. The alternate seasons of the year of the text makes up the minor loop, while the accumulation of the season alternate of ninteen years makes up the major loop. At the same time, it refers to the scenery of the four seasons which was disscussed by ErZhidaoren, and divides the major loop into four parts, that is, the dream of spring, summer, autumn,and winter.The fourth part is the coplex function of season narration. It analyzes the circularity, imagery and metaphor of the text, and the text is in line with the function of narration,expression and moral respectively and even has surpassed, which makes up the extraordinary A Dream of Red Mansions.The fifth part is the deficiency of season narrative. It atatomies the deficiency of the whole and part, and gives an objective evaluation of season narrative.
