The family narrative of the 20th century is originally connected with the novel A Dream of Red Mansions. They have a wide, internal and profound relationship with the novel. Since most researchers investigate and check the relationship from the works of some individual writers, this thesis tries to sort out generally the reception of the novel by the 20th century family narrative and then use it to probe into the aesthetic tendency, the construction of cultural psychology and the artistic characteristics of narrative of the 20th century literary production influenced by the novel A Dream of Red Mansions .For the sake above, the thesis is divided into six parts as follows.The introductory remarks, beginning with the great background that the 20th century literary production was influenced by traditional literature, point out the dissemination and inheritance of the novel by family narrative and additionally illustrate the necessity and significance of studying family narrative as a whole.The first part simply sort out the ways that the writers of the 20th century were influenced by the novel and the cultural origins and the elements of times and psychology which made the writers pay attention to the deep excavation and nearly perfect presentation of the carrier— family narrative in the novel. The experience and understanding of reading the novel directly influenced the writers' production and made prosperous the family narrative of the 20th century.The second part mainly inquire into the fact that the family narrative of the 20th century inherited the constructional tradition of image system and created a comparative image system between fathers and sons and an image group of women. Afterwards, the family literature developed more meaningful elements after absorbing new cultural ideas during the changing of times.The third part shows that the tragic ideas in the novel broke the traditional construction of psychology and shook the writers of the 20th...
