The Uzbek people is one of the ethnic group lived in Xinjiang from generation to generation. Uzbek is constituted with two parts in historically. Although the majority of the Uzbek people are Muslims at present, but in the history of their national development, they also believed in a variety of religions. And those religious beliefs gradually withdrew from the mainstream of Uzbek society. they have had great influence on civilian life of Uzbek and have left some traces in daily lives of them.The first part of the article summarize that the ancestors of Uzbek are assemble of two parts: one is the Nomads from The Golden Horde at the north of Syr Darya, they take the name of Uzbek, another is the agricultural of Central Asia. And then, analyse the history of how Uzbeks change their religionsThe second part of the article analyse the folk beliefs about the worship and taboos of the natural world, the faith in the ancient residence of deities, the multiplex concept of spirit and ghost, the worship of heroes and ancestors, the customs of festivals and ceremonies, the the original faiths remaining in the ceremonies for memorizing the major stages in life and the Cosmology and world view in deeply influence of cultural Shamanism in the daily life of Uzbek. From these, we can draw a conclusion that the Uzbeks' folk beliefs is a comprehensive body,created with the animism, include nature worship, spirit worship and various activities take witchcraft as basic logic,such as taboo and divination etc., and have laxer organization system.The third part of the article summarize the characteristics of The Uzbeks' folk beliefs have strong utilitarian, the diversity of belief in gods and the spontaneous and loose in organization, compare with formally religions, it has part religious feature, is a kind of lower level faith method. In addition, the absorption and interaction between the folk beliefs of Uzbek and the culture of Islam for the purpose of illustrating that the relationship between religions is not absolute contradictive and exclusive, and different religions can co-exist harmoniously.The fourth part of the article explain the Uzbeks' folk beliefs and the Uzbeks' society. It explains the manifestation andthe influence of the Uzbeks' folk beliefs in their society. We can explore the deep meanings of folk beliefs and their positive values existing in modern society to the utmost extent. Folk beliefs have widely penetrated through every corner of the bottom of society, as well as the hearts of the masses of the people. They are public cultural resources and indispensable factors that can not be discarded for building the socialist harmonious society, so we should pay much attention to folk beliefs when studying the phenomenon of religion and the issue concerning how to build a harmonious society in China. We must properly guide the social functions of folk beliefs, seek their advantages and avoid their disadvantages, adapt themselves to socialist society, and try to make them important cultural resources that can serve the constructing of the socialist harmonious society.
