To the research and criticisms of contemporary art, the most important key words is "china symbol". It is said that these artists make artworks of special china to satisfy western mighty word. Frankly, it is fawn on western world and satisfy there curiosity. Including the word art of Xubing and Guwenda, all are put into this theory. However, in writer's opinion, the conclusion is a narrow and incomplete. Whether creation of artists or criticism of theory area, emphasize "china symbol" too much will cause into nationalism or devaluation of native culture.On the 80's of 20th century, there is a discussion about criticism and self-reflection to tradition civilization with great passion in the contemporary art area which never have had before. XuBing and GuWenda began to creation of word art in 80's that is one of powerful form of modern art in China that time, even made quite a stir and open the thoughts of people, finally become a road contemporary art of China go through to the global art. However, there is not enough recognizance to the artists who work on word art have great influence both in china and in the global art area. This essay will try to recognize the contribution of these two artists by time and space. There are not only thes e two artists who work on word art, but the reason I choice they is their work art creations are most attempting , persistently ,and make great influence.Contemporary art of china is companying with post-colonialism from the start. The essay analyze how the word art of XuBing and GuWenda is affected by anti-centre in postmodernism in environment of globalization by using the theories of Edward Wadie Said, Gayatri C. Spivak,especially the theory of mixing civilization of Homi K. Bhabha . in one hand, they use the Chinese traditional culture, at another hand, they absorb in west contemporary art spirit, and create multivariant art form in culture feature. At the same time, analyzing "word art" this phenomenon with the theory of culture capital by Pierre Bourdieu, the result will be found that actually it is a result of battle between east and west for the culture capital. In this battle, both east and west are adopt a kind of culture strategy which have been in effect in capital survival in the economic globalization, and have great influence right now. How Xubing and Guwenda's word art deal with this cultural policy to achieve the equal conversation of culture finally.
