The Study Of Religious Belief Of Hui Nationality In Quanzhou

The religious belief is an ideology in the formation of history, and it has distinctive national characteristics. Quanzhou is one of the areas which Islam penetrates first through China, but when Hui nationality went though the rain and wind during the history in Quanzhou, tremendous changes have taken place in their religious belief. This paper makes a case study of Hui nationality which distributes mainly in Chendai, Huian, Baiqi by combining the personal interview, history documents and field survey. The paper describes the historical transformations of religious belief of Hui nationality in Quanzhou, and then analyzes the character of it and discusses the reasons of its changes. Researching the historical transformations of religious belief of Hui nationality in Quanzhou can offer an example models for researching the changes of the religious belief in modern Quanzhou.The paper is comprised of five parts:Part one is the introduction to the reason, significance, basic problems and research methods;Part two is the introduction of the dissemination of Islam in Quanzhou;Then the paper describes the outline of religious belief of Hui nationality in Quanzhou based on the research;The final of the paper predicts the trend for development of religious belief of Hui nationality in Quanzhou based on the present state of it.
