| In the history of painting of our country ,there are many famous artists good at portraying the image of animals ,but ,their works only can be seen in the literature more , handed down for the little . Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang murals is all-inclusive, there are a large number of animal portrait .These paintings having the number of new techniques, the performance of the system of inheritance and its own integrity, reliability ,and all these are unprecedented in China .Until now, Few scholars of Dunhuang Studies researched the image of animal paintings specially, less concerned about these . The animal paintings in the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes play an important role in filling the vacancies of our painting history ,its academic status should not be underestimated.The author of this article study the animal images appearing in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes murals in the Tang Dynasty . First I clsaaified the image of animals appeared in the many murals . Then ,I analysised the source of a variety of animals and the role of the image in the mural structure . On the basis of syudy in the Mogao Grottoes in the Tang Dynasty murals and other denasties ,did a comparative study. This paper is on the theme of the image, through comparing, we hope the animal murals of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes in the Tang Dynasty to make a more systematic overview of the study, and to some extent, the history of our animal painting could have an effective and complementary supplement. |
