The army primary school played an important role on training military personnel in the late Qing Dynasty. The establishment of the schools wasn't only an important part of military education reform, but also a symbol that the military educational system of our country had formally entered the modernization. Combining official archives, many memoirs with the original press material such as Oriential Magazine, Shenbao etc, the thesis, the army schools before and after 1905 for the study, concerned about the background of the establishment of small schools, as well as the source of school teachers and students and the management style, reveals the contradiction between the ideal of setting up schools and the actual results, analyzes the causes to deepen the understanding of the New Deal and the military educational reform in the late Qing Dynasty and provides the historical reference for modernization of military education.In the introduction, the author recalls the situation of the topic including the achievements and insufficiency, proposes the significance of the article on the base of the research , defines the time and the range involved in the subject.Except the instruction, the body of the thesis is divided into four chapters:Chapterâ… is the establishment origin and overview of the Army primary school. From the alternation of the old and new military education system and the introduction of primary educational idea, this part expounds the background and describes the profile of establishmentChapterâ…¡is the system of hiring teachers and students. This chapter focuses on the way of employing teachers and the admission system, as well as the loopholes of the process .Chapterâ…¢is the teaching management and actual effects. This part is the subject of the article. After Objectively introducing the small school's curriculums and management, the chapter analysis their characteristics and the actual effectiveness.In the conclusion, the thesis puts forward that the implementation of the new education system needs the protection of the adapted political system. The army primary school, as a part of the military education reform in the late Qing Dynasty, exists a great district between the ideal and reality, and briefly analyzes the reasons for this result.The old system of military education couldn't meet the needs of the late Qing government in the internal and external pressure. Western learning was introduced into the country, as well as Chinese moved towards the world, which caused the western basic education to sprout and develop. At the same time, the reform demanded urgently new military personnel, but the former Army Wubei education couldn't satisfy the need, it became the moment of setting up the army primary school.The establishment of the army primary schools was to train the junior army generals who were patriotic to the country and loyal to emperor. Under the leadship of the Training Department and the Army Department, the army schools had created quickly. However, the management of the government in political out of control had been weakened. The admission system, teaching management, and the actual results of primary schools had the larger gap with the ideal of the government. The military personnel became the grave digger for the government self.
