In the world of globalization,with the development of international business,business translation starts to be popular in China and the demand for business translators and interpreters is increasing quickly.Although there are many persons who are good at English in China,some English learners with good basis of English find it difficult to translate business contracts because they lack the essential knowledge about business and they don't know the stylistic features of Chinese and English business contracts clearly.In this thesis,through contrastive analysis between the English translations of business contracts and the business contracts drafted by English native-speakers,the author notices that there are significant differences between the above two texts as far as the use of words and sentence structures are concerned.The author also gives some advice to the translators who have little experience in business translation.The thesis is composed of five parts:part one is introduction.In this part,the author introduces the concept and classification of business contracts,raises the research questions and points out the significance the thesis;in the second part,the author reviews three theoretical models of translation:comparative models,process models and causal models, contrastive analysis theory and Nida's principle of dynamic equivalence;part three is research procedure of this thesis;part four is the core of this thesis,in this part the author uses the principle of dynamic equivalence put forward by Nida to contrast and analyze the English translations of business contracts and the business translations drafted by English native-speakers in lexical and syntactic levels;in part five,the author summarizes the characteristics of the two kinds of business contracts and their differences.At the end of the thesis,the author gives some instructive advice to people who are interested in business texts and want to translate business contracts.
