Passive voice is a very important grammatical term in the English language.When using English passive voice,Chinese learners often make errors due to the differences between the two kinds of languages.English and Chinese definitely belong to different language families.The voice and verb forms in the two languages are totally different. This thesis takes the method of questionnaire on the basis of the theories of interlanguage and error analysis.The subjects of the questionnaire are college students who graduated from ordinary high schools and vocational high schools.The questions include voice-changing,multiple-choice,sentence-making and a paragraph-translation.By analyzing the misuse produced by the subjects,the causes of misuse and suggestions on avoiding misuse are given.This thesis consists of six chapters.Chapter one is the brief introduction to the paper. Chapter two generally reviews English passive voice and basic theories related to this paper,as well as the relevant studies.Chapter three states the design of the research. Chapter four focuses on the analysis of the misuse of English passive voice produced by Chinese college learner's usage.Chapter five gives suggestions from different aspects. Chapter six is the conclusion. |
