Adverbs in Chinese are a kind of words which is very special and important. Without a lot of quantity, but having a wide range, high frequency, and huge diversities of use, the adverbs of degree are particularly necessary and quiet complex. There is a great progress have been made during the past decade in the field of the characteristics and inwardness of adverbs of degree. Tianmen, which located in the Jianghan Plain, is a city in the hinterland of Hubei Province. It connects the gold waterway Yangzi River and cross-border railway which across the Three Gorges between south and north where Jingsha is on the west and Wuhan is on the east. Because of its geographical advantage, the language in Tianmen has its unique style and the adverbs of degree are also very rich.This article analyzes the adverbs of degree in Tianmen dialects by comparison and enumeration and mainly divides into two parts: a brief introduction to its adverbs of degree narrow sense in the first part, and some empirical analysis in the second part which is the focus of this article. In the second part three most common adverbs of degree ,"very", "good" and "dead" , have been selected to have a deeper study as represents from their syntax, semantics and pragmatics . Not only have the characteristics of these words been analyzed, but also the similarities and differences among them. In addition, there is a study of the relevance and disparities between these adverbs of degree in Putonghua and Tianmen dialects by comparison and analysis.
