On Constructive Characteristics Of Cassirer's Symbolic Aesthetics

Cassirer,having a profound impact on the aesthetic thinking of a generation, due to Langer Susan 's further expansion,makes the symbolic aesthetics of the 20th century become a prominent school of thought.Cassirer's Aesthetics,as a result of the provisions of his philosophy manifest a characteristic of priori construction.However, the way Cassirer to go is the old formalism.In his view,the meaning of art must be searched in the form.The priori Construction plays a strong role in deconstructing the fixed form,thus,they become a pair of two contradictory existences,so that how to place the two sides of this contradictory and to combine them together becomes a problem.In this thesis,I mainly take the perspective approach from micro to macro and strive to get through his aesthetic ideas to the overall spirit of philosophy in common.In specific course of the study,this article uses a combination of history and logic approach.Cassirer positively absorbs the predecessors' thoughts to create his own unique philosophy of symbolic forms.Dilthey,Husserl,Humboldt,Vico,Kant, Hegel's philosophy have a profound impact on Cassirer.The so-called vertical comparison of history method is to put Cassirer's aesthetic ideas in a large philosophy background,and to historically sort out the philosophy impact Cassirer suffered.The so-called method logic is to abandon all impurities the characteristic of construction has nothing to do with,in the course of history comparison,carrying out the necessasity of the induction and summary.Through research we have get the following conclusions:1,Cassirer treats the symbolic forms as a reminder of humanity,in other words,as the "opportunity"to start construction of human nature.The form processing as a " opportunity " and " reminder " is a good solution to the conflict factors of the fixed characteristics of form and the deconstructive characteristics of construction activities.It is the integration of this unique characteristics of construction that Cassirer's aesthetic of symbolic forms goes beyond the tool limitations of form,and shows a unique charm.2,In the methodology,Cassirer's three unique methodology of Priori construction, Phenomenology and Hermeneutics entangle with each other together.The latter two are a very good complementary to construction,phenomenological reduction gives possibility to the view of art——"the original manifest state ",and the hermeneutic circle lets Cassirer have achieved the classical complex of art theory and the autonomy of art.3,In the course of generating meaning of art,Cassirer gets rid of the trap of literaturarily explaination,his thorough change in the art concept of perception, expression and imagination directly deconstructs the definition of art as the entity existence,further,redefines the proposition of "significant form".4,The priori constructivity deconstructs the form of objective entity,making the form of the aesthetics the ontology of symbolic state,or the factor in the existence of life as a life aesthetics.This article is divided into four chapters to get through Cassirer's Philosophy and his Aesthetics,focusing on compatibility of constructive characteristic and the symbolic forms in Cassirer's aesthetics,together with some of my own views.
