The question "is the a priori incompatible with the naturalistic epistemology?" has been discussed in recent years. One starting point of this dissertation is the question about the a priori in naturalistic epistemology. The intention of this dissertation is to present a moderate conception of naturalistic epistemology which is perfectly compatible with non-empirical warrant (a priori justification) and gives us a better appreciation of the respective merits of the a priori and the empirical, as well as a better understanding of how a priori justification comports with empirical science. The other starting point of this dissertation is to sketch a theory of justification due to that the contemporary epistemology is mainly about the justification of knowledge, which talks about how we can get the knowledge of the world. Following this idea,â… discuss what the knowledge really is, where it from and what methods and conditions should we use for attaining knowledge. Thereforeâ… emphasize justification is necessary for knowing. The goal of this discussion is to try to develop a unified epistemological account of the a priori, dealing with the notions of non-perceptual reasons, such as intuition, reasoning, reflection, etc. These terms refer to a distinctive type of justifications that is both common and familiar to most individuals which bring philosophy from high position to normal life.To sum up, I try to illuminate and clarify the conception of naturalistic epistemology and the a priori by abandoning the traditional properties which are inessential to these two conceptions. Naturalistic epistemology is best seen as a cluster of views according to which epistemology is closely connected to natural science and empirical methods; the a priori is basically epistemological which connet to justification. It is hardly enough to throw out observation and experience as the only sources of justification. Soâ… maintain that there exit the contents of our intuitions, reasoning and reflection which are large independent of the contents of our observations and experiences and these become a priori justification.Besides, plenty of the conceptions, theories and ideas which are involved in the development of epistemology and a priori issue have been discussed here in order to organize the miscellaneous backround. It's clear that it will give important clue for us to think the future of epistemology. Finally, in view of my remarks all above, the simple and determinate epistemological concept of a priori justification implies a qualified authority and autonomy for logic and mathematics vis-a-vis empirical science.
