The Research Of Polysyllabic Words In Guan Zi

"Guanzi",as one of the important ancient books in the pre-Qin times,is the core documents on studying ancient Chinese.The study of "Guanzi" will certainly be helpful for further study of the characteristics of polysyllabic words in ancient Chinese during the pre-Qin times,showing the status quo of polysyllabic words at that times.In order to make the study of this thesis persuasive enough,five chapters will be included as the following goes:Chapter one will be introduction,devoted to the general background of "Guanzi", the aim and scope of this thesis and the research methodology of thesis.Chapter two aims at setting the criteria of polysyllabic words in "Guanzi".This chapter is the one that will combine the previous research results with the status of polysyllabic words in "'Guanzi",focusing on the coagulativeness of main significance with the rhetorical form and occurrence frequency as the secondary.Additionally, structural analysis will be involved to ensure the polysyllabic words in "Guanzi"Chapter three will consist of two parts.The first part sets an aim to summarize the structure types of polysyllabic words in "Guanzi",laying out the number and proportion of polysyllabic words of all kinds.The second part intends to analyze the polysyllabic words in "Guanzr' from semantic structure and morphological structure.In Chapter four,the comparisons between "Guanzi" and "The Analects of Confucius Zuo Zhuan" and "Lun Heng" will be employed respectively,which will help a lot in summarizing the characteristics of polysyllabic words in "Guanzi".
