The thesis aims to explore the key issue of Kant's ethics, based on Kant's three works, that is the Critique of Pure Reason, the critique of practical reason, and the groundwork of the metaphysics of morals. The freedom of will is the most influential concept in Kant's moral philosophy. Kant not only emphasizes the importance of freedom in moral choice, but also makes clear the inevitable connection between freedom and human's action, then Kant puts forward the necessity of freedom, which advance men's understanding on freedom in ethics area.Freedom is the core of both Kant's ethics and critical philosophy. Thus,it is from the perspective of freedom that we can grasp the essence of Kant's philosophy more efficiently and more precisely.Freedom is the embodiment of human existence and essence. It is just for the enhancement of freedom that Kant takes the side of deontology.Kant proves that the essence of scientific metaphysics is the ethics that is based on freedom.Meanwhile,he also established the spirit of rationality that is aimed for freedom,as a result of which freedom and rationality as the two themes of Enlightment have been elevated the most important place.Kant's understanding of freedom has inspired we successors to think over how to make the inevitability to become true.
