Research On Flower Drum Songs Along The Huaihe River

Huai River drainage area is one of the cradle lands of Chinese civilization, and also the main blending belt of Chinese southern and northern cultures. Anhui flower drum song is a popular Han folk singing and dancing art in middle reaches of Huai River. It is one of the representatives of Han singing and dancing art and is acknowledged as one of the first 518 state level intangible cultural heritage protection lists. And drum song is an important part of flower drum art, it is rich in content, its brilliant characteristics in production and unique art style established its important status and significance in flower drum art. The article reviews the process of its beginning, development and transformation of flower drum song mainly based on the principle of field research of folk musicology and culture anthropology, and makes comprehensive analysis with the emphasis on its art value and social value from the perspectives of its history and actuality.
