The Research Of Gambling Banning During Yongzheng Age

Gambling is regarded as a pertinacious illness to the society,thus it is not only reproached by people,but also prohibited by the authorities.In the Qinng Dynast, regulations on gambling banning was complete,more attention was paid on these issues especially during Yongzheng period.By examining the regulations and measures on gambling banning,I would like to probe into Yongzheng's patterns of administration.The main structure and content of this thesis are as follows:Introduction:I will explain the reasons for choosing this topic.Historiography, primary sources and methodology will also been discussed in this section.Chapterâ… :Gambling and Gambling banning,from Ming Dynasty to early Qing Dynasty.In this chapter,I will examine the features of gambling during this period, analyze the attitudes of authorities to gambling and the measures they took.Chapterâ…¡:Gambling banning in Yongzheng period.By sorting out the laws, regulations,and measures during this period,I will analyze the process and conditions of gambling banning,and the reasons for this phenomenon.Chapterâ…¢:Discussion and execution of gambling banning of local governments. In this chapter,I will use memorials to the throne,then examine how gambling banning was been discussed and executed by local officials.The change of Yongzheng's ideas will also been analyzed.Chapterâ…£:Progress achieved.According to memorials to the throne and other sources,I will try to discuss the achievement during this course and Yongzheng's patterns of administration.Conclusion:New findings and continuous study will be discussed.The main features of gambling banning in Yongzheng peiod was discussed by studying the measures carded out both the central authority and local governments.I think:Yongzheng's patterns of administration could not only be summarized as "rigorous",the measures he took also reflected that he was pragmatic and adroit as a successful politician.
