With the march of times and the gradual development and consummation of piano teaching system in normal universities, the general trend of education development will request us to face the society and the future to explore boldly and reform firmly, with which to establish a brand new teaching system conforming to the cultivation goal and manifesting the own characteristics and rules of piano teaching in normal universities.According to the regulations of present syllabus, the training objective of music education major in normal universities is to cultivate qualified music teachers for basic level schools. The paper firstly seizes the main line of pedagogic character of teaching in normal universities tightly, explores the entire process of implementing the training objective of music education major in normal universities to the piano class teaching. Piano teachers in normal universities should take the mastery of the piano knowledge and skills, the ability of synthetically applying the keyboard as well as the training of piano impromptu accompaniment as the core, carries out the notion of combining skill training and musical sense and tastes together in teaching, centers on mastering the piano performance knowledge and the skills and improvement of the ability of piano impromptu accompaniment, and combines technical training and artistic theory, classroom instruction and artistic practice as an integrated whole and unifies and integrates earnestly to the entire process of piano teaching. In the actual teaching process, we must apply the newest piano teaching method and utilize the course content in the students so as to improve the quality of teaching fruitfully; we should also use modernized multimedia teaching method, innovate boldly, and explore a suitable piano teaching model for teachers in primary and middle schools. Moreover, the idea about how to improve the professional competence and teaching ability of piano teachers is proposed by the author.
