Comparative Studies Of The New Chinese Grammar And The Chinese Grammar

The New Chinese Grammar(By Li Jinxi) and The Chinese Grammar(By Xing Fuyi) were written in different times,but both of them occupied an important position and have a significant impact in the history of Chinese grammar research.The purpose of comparing these two books,is not just to highlight the development and progress of Chinese grammar research in the past few decades,most importantly,to grasp some of the most stable and basic characteristics of the Chinese grammar with time factors aside,meanwhile to recognize that there are still a number of fundamental questions which can not be resolved satisfactorily with the level of development for the past decades.Both positive and negative contents which are complementary to each other can help us to get deeper understanding of Chinese grammar and provide some references for the development of Chinese grammar studies in the future.With the starting points and principles,the thesis specifically discusses the two books in the aspect of grammar units,aims at comparing in detail and a sense of hierarchy,and achieves the purpose of comparative study.The thesis includes five chapters as follows.Chapterâ… :Discussion of two works which occupy an important place in the "Standard Theory" comparison,viz.the comparison of "Sentence Standard" and "Micro-sentence Centre",and we can get a thorough understanding of their bright grammar characteristics respectively from the observation based on the theory.Chapterâ…¡:Discussions about some of the basic grammar questions, including the definition of the term structure,word composition,the types of words and so on.Chapterâ…¢:Discussion about the phrase questions,divided into three parts,including the definition of the phrase,the distinction between the compound words and phrases,and classification of the phrase.Chapterâ…£:Discussion about the questions about relation of small sentences and complex sentences,including the definition of sentences, comparing complex sentences with clause,the distinction between subject-predicate phrases and subsumed complex sentences,relations of complex sentences and classification of the complex sentences.Chapterâ…¤:Discussion about the questions of sentence groups.
