The traditional Chinese painting bearing China culture meteorology, is expressing one cultural idea, on this spot, we are very difficult to find other pictures which can so close rely on the parent substance culture. This article explains concrete traditional Chinese painting thoroughly from external visual element to intrinsic cultural spirit in order to unearths the cultural connotation which contains in the single width traditional Chinese painting work.The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals is a preciousness in the Chinese character painting history. It is a famous work of Chinese line drawing art. While , due to its mysterious identity and other reasons, it goes through thousands of delicacy, taking on the legend color, but never getting corresponding attention and embedded study. It's such unfortunately for this artistic treasure! We try to carry out some deeper study on its production cultural background, visual format, visual effect, cultural and artistic thought and so on in the hope of acquiring more cognition of the creation process and language of Chinese character paintings and its humanistic thought. This thesis is constitutive of four parts: the first chapter is about the historic origin , its mystery , and comments of The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals. We want to get a clear understanding of its mysterious relationgship to Meeting with the primogenitor and their creation cognitive differences in particular. Meanwhile we make a general definition to the author's identity.The second chaper tells about the creation process of The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals beginning with its social and cultural environment and relationship to popular immortal volume models. The change of cultural aesthetic in the Tang and Song Dynasty and the theoretics foundation of The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals's appearing in the Song Dynasty are demonstrated. Then we study its creation process . There are many obvious creation imprints in The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals because the author is strange to this subject matter and his individual style is not moulded. From these imprints, we can feel his explorition of techniques and the change of aesthetic seniment. According to these changes, the volume is parted for four parts. The main points of this article is to make a deeper study on these four parts to probe into his different pursues when the author created it. The third chaper mainly analyses the visual format of the picture from the viewers'point. Various elements of the picture consist its whole elegant demeanour.Of course, there are some immature expressions on this charming volume. The linearity fascination of Chinese art was fully exhibited by this work. Dense lines and the strong linearity rhythm constitutived by figure and things give us keen visual feelings and bring to rich visual mentality effect, which forms a particular visual imagenation space.The fourth chapter discusses the Chinese cultural artistic thought existing in The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals and annotate Chinese painting thoughts'common sense and individual cultural cognition and consciousness pursue which is reflected in the work. We try to analysis The Volume of Eighty-seven Immortals seperately from its inner Dao, Qi, bosom, comprehension, harmony and its spiritual Externalization through brandish.
