Pure Confucian And Hero--Research On Zhu Xi And Chen Liang's Debate

Zhu Xi and Chen Liang's debate , is famous in the history of Chinese thought. In debate, they put forward their own ideal personality respectively , that is pure Confucian and hero. The pure Confucian and hero indicate that Zhu Xi and Chen Liang have different value orientation. This text try to from the value orientation, to discuss what difference they have in the difference of value orientation. And find out the reason which they choose different ideal personality. Specifically, Zhu xi and Chen liang have different evaluation of SanDai and Hantang dynasty, They also have different understanding in justice and benefit, But the fundamental problem is that they have difference in Dao. They choose different ideal personality for three reasons .One reason is that the value of Confucian sage is suspended, second one is the tension between Neisheng and Waiwang ,the last one is the situation of Southern Song Dynasty .The difference of value orientation between Zhu Xi and Chen Liang, reflect their emphasis on morality and Utilitarian particularly, This shows that the contradictions inherent in the Confucian, that is the tension between Neisheng and Waiwang. The debate not only affect the development of Zhu Xi and Chen Liang's thought, but also influence the academic structure at that time. More importantly, the debate reflect the the development direction of generations of Confucianism----- from Neisheng turn to Waiwang.
