Sun Zhiwei,a poet from Shanxi Province in the early Qing Dynasty,creates a great deal of excellent poetry works and has a great influence on the poem circle.As a productive poet in his times,his poetry covers a wide rang of content and is vigorous and pristine.By making a study of his poetry,we can not only get a general idea of the works written by the northwest literators of the early Qing Dynasty but also the life and the thought of Ming adherents.The thesis which studies Sun Zhiwei and his poetry focuses on his unique life,the special artistic feature of his poetry and the mentality as an adherent.This paper is made up of five parts,including the preamble,the main part and the conclusion:The preface briefly introduces the importance of Sun Zhiwei in this field of the early Qing Dynasty,points out the artistic feature of his poetry and states the purpose and significance of this topic from the perspective of the regional culture,historical research,literary research and so on.Chapter One briefly describes the whole life of Sun Zhiwei.In view of the controversy over whether Sun Zhiwei is a Ming adherent,this paper further proves that he is really an adherent by studying the material of his taking the test in his late years and the fact that he often made friends with the adherents as well as the typical adherent thoughts and state of mind which his poetry reflects.Chapter Two is mainly about the influence of Sun Zhiwei's trading.After having a detailed study of his experience that he at first took up trade and finally gave it up,this paper analyzes his idea as well as how this idea formed.Sun Zhiwei had particular ideas because he received Confucianism education as a child but afterwards became a Businessman who sold salt.On one hand,he hates talking about money and shows sympathy to the honest traders.On the other hand,he thinks he is a poet and denies that he is from a rich trader family,which shows that he looks up to the literators but looks down upon the traders.Chapter Three studies Sun Zhiwei's poetry in the view of regional culture,which has a great effect on his thought and his poetry.He had close contact with the natives, which made his poetry have a unique character.His poetry is vigorous and pristine, which reflects the common poetry-style of the northwest literators of the early Qing Dynasty.Meanwhile,under the influence of both southern culture and northern culture, his poetry is connotative and has regular rhythms,which are characters of Jiang Nan culture.His poetry avoids vehemence appearing in the northeastern culture.So his poetry is the combination of both southern culture and northern culture.In the last part,the paper stresses the importance of Sun Zhiwei in the poem circle once more and summarizes his special artistic feature.What's more,this paper points out the influence of his poetry at that time and proves that he is a true Ming adherent, who is loyal to the Ming Dynasty. |
